Fixed the code in a hotel product supplier’s operating system to reduce errors. Also, created new functionality including a database, online manuals, and a repaired QC portal.
The client had an ordering platform for customers built by a previous developer that was no longer scaling to meet their needs.
Here, the challenge was to fix the problems in the system’s code quickly. Initially, after those repairs, a lot of new problems came up. We had to create a system that allows users to register a buyer account, enter specifications for the product they’re looking for, and receive a quote. That order then goes to the admin department who sends it to one of their 100 factories under contract with them.
Initially, we reviewed their whole process. And by reviewing it, we build a database that allows their customers—brand hotels especially—to shop through specific product lines that are pre-approved by those brands. That shortens the buying process for customers—they don’t have to run products by stakeholders before making a purchase.
In addition, we created online manuals to guide people through the registration process as a buyer or supplier. We also repaired a Quality Control (QC) portal that’s part of their system.
